About GYN PATH
GYN PATH Services was established in 1982 to support the laboratory needs of local obstetricians, gynecologists, and healthcare providers in the El Paso region. Philip A. Miles, M.D., FACOG, FCAP, served as the laboratory’s founding medical director, bringing respected expertise as an OB/GYN physician, pathologist, and educator.
GYN PATH was an early adopter of specialized, advanced women’s health laboratory technology, including liquid-based cytology, image-guided cytology, ThinPrep Pap testing, and other diagnostic methods designed to support accurate screening and patient care. Today, that same forward-looking approach continues through advanced cytology, HPV testing, CINtec PLUS Cytology, molecular microbiology, virology, outpatient surgical pathology, and digital pathology tools that help providers make informed decisions for the patients they serve.
As a local laboratory, GYN PATH processes specimens here in the El Paso region rather than relying on out-of-town send-out processing. That local presence helps support responsive service, timely turnaround, and closer communication with the healthcare providers and patients we serve.
Today, GYN PATH Services remains focused on the same purpose that shaped its beginning: supporting women’s healthcare with accurate results, responsive provider service, and dependable laboratory testing for the community we serve.
